Tutorial + Peer feedback

 COP Tutorial 1

- branding and editorial video should be at the forefront of the project, as clothing won't be marked, as the communicator between the fashion and the customers

- different approaches should be taken for the branding (some loud, obvious gender inclusive, some more subtle)

- look at type choices that present gender and how this influences the branding

- look at the different areas that is encompassed by branding = labels, hangers, store wayfinding etc.

- By Next Tutorial:

- Solid essay structure

- Practical Brief (like it is written by the fashion client: logo, colourways, tags for garments etc.)

PEER FEEDBACK

- Love the idea of patches

- Means it is adaptable for everyone in how they want to use it and where

- Means the focus is on the design of the patches rather than on the clothing

- Can just buy general clothing from charity shops and apply these patches

- Should there be a specific clothing choices in reflection of the patches? As these are for everyone who would like them, the clothing would range within the sphere of what they normally wear

eg. indie hipster alternative style

- day and night dressing will still be a concept

- shift between day and night of clothing could be present within the different clothes customised, eg. during the day more basic clothing, whereas evening more patterned clothes

- 18-28 young arts and culture audience

= Eclectic mix of Y2K, 90s, 70s, hipster, vintage, rave culture, festival, street wear, queer culture

= Appealing to the age and background of these people rather than focussing on a specific fashion style means being more inclusive and means the editorial video will show this range of people

= Basic wear related to mood wear:

- denim

- loose baggy clothes (shirts)

- t-shirts

= Accessories add to the basics to create the night vibe

Stone Island Patches make the brand ridiculously high fashion prices

= it is detachable from the clothing with buttons, which somewhat seems to emphasise how ridiculously overpriced it is when the label itself is removable or can be lost

= Brands like this iterate why the idea of patches works well for this design concept
= They are cheap to produce, people can pick and choose what they want (individualism), and they can use their own clothes and not buy more clothes (sustainability and adapting)

= To Do =
1. Brand name and begin logo ideas
2. Patches theme and begin sketches and painting of them
