Applying Patches to Clothes
= All patches and designs were printed much larger than I had planned for which was a printing mistake, but the size could be used in a way that is interesting
= Large fabric print can be used in various ways
> wrap around skirts
> head scarfs
> tie onto bags and trouser belt loops
> bandeaus
= the masks that have the smiling mouth and cheek circles cannot be used easily for anything else however
= Too large to be used as a bandeau, as it looks odd with the cheeks reaching round the back and the smile so large on the front
= Could be used as decoration in the shoot like the large yellow print of all the illustrations
= Quality of the prints is good however and despite being worried about the illustrations being pixelated due to stretching them for the printing, the majority are clear
= If I were to go back and refine designs and pieces this decorative flag would have outlined the pink smiley face as this is the only illustration without this detail
= Spending that extra time looking over these sort of details before sending off is an important step, and with the rush off getting it printed on time for the shoot this extra time for refining was lost
= Need to make sure for other briefs that this time is reserved

= The combination of the patches and painting works well in reflecting this inclusivity and range within the production side, not just the design and research side
= Also shows the way the audience can use these patches in different ways alongside other creative outputs
= Size of the patches work well despite being a mistake on the clothing
= Although this means the majority of clothes wouldn't fit the packaging planned and bought, in line with the original design and sizing I can still present this concept with the few smaller patches
= Sewing myself was difficult, particularly on trousers high up on the leg as getting all the fabric through the machine arm for the needle to reach those patches meant there was fabric bunched up and getting in the way
= Not particularly fussed about the sewing being perfect as it reflects how the users may apply it even if they are not good at sewing
= It presents a much more realistic, down to earth application, and keeps the brand within a genuine ethos rather than clean cut high fashion
Issues with collaborators and lockdown
> doing shoot early, have models ready by 10 latest
> use all lamps in the house towards models by camera
> post-editing may be able to improve lighting
- film editor unable to come due to travelling in lockdown
> will still be able to edit the film
> will be on call to help with shooting
> providing equipment to use
- studio slot not been confirmed by uni for allowance of external individuals
> story board sections using studio will be adapted to in the house
