Practical Group Crit + Tutorial
> Feedback on the overall practical was positive and lots of peers said they would personally buy the patches
> Suggestions that the packaging be like other sticker and patch packaging where the transparent sleeve has an additional cardboard flap stapled to the top
> However most packaging of sticker and patches is boring and this carboard sleeve feels like an unnecessary addition
> It does call into question that there could be more info on the packaging of the patches and prints (QR code to the insta?)
> But generally the way it has already been designed follows the primary research done successfully
> Ideas on how to improve the packaging visuals using both real and digital mock ups weren't that helpful, suggested buying larger sleeves online or using online mock ups of transparent sleeves
> Looking at presentation yesterday in research was more helpful and I think corresponding with what the group crit said on buying more sleeves it's important to keep this physical, real portrayal of the products
> Ask James to borrow some sleeves from him that he uses for fabric print drop offs
> Take photos of these rather than digitally creating them
> Find yellow roll (paper or fabric) to use as back drop?
Tutorial Feedback
- new paragraph after gender for drag for more discussion about gender and ideas from theories
- what does all this theory tell us about how people interact with ideas of gender?
- point to justification to gender as being fluid and inclusive and how it appears as this in fashion
- be more critical of phluid project and other inclusive brands
conclusion
= point to strategies, tried and test by eg. however there are ways of improving
= bigger brands can learn something from smaller brands
= there are ways to engage with audiences that don't need to be gender binary
= how to improve what's existing in gender inclusive branding
= companies being held to perfect, super transparent and genuine
= leaders of brand want to lead change but small companies that are genuine will grow and become more corporate
= problematic points that I can improve and solve
- we've learnt that these approaches work... however these areas could be improved
= eg. although phluid project are going for (flowy letters), their visual approach suitable for them but how do you communicate these ideas without alienating other consumers
Primary Research Blog
= ethics mention that professionalism was used to prevent the peer groups as participants having their responses being influenced
= put the different studies into different blogs
