Feedback on Group Call

- committed to an aesthetic

- would've liked to see a deck and thoughts behind idea

- is it playful? quite, but more like energy feels like the theme

- love the visuals

Feedback on Personal Call + Industry Advice

- You said you would've liked to see the process and starting point, so is it important to show the starting point and idea behind a design to all clients and briefs?

- What is a deck specifically?

> presentation. PDF, how you are building idea and selling the pitch

> what's the spark, show the line of how it relates to visuals

> video showing all the stuff works well eg. seen in this presentation

> Actually not a video but the way in which it feels seamless and you scroll through the presentation is very appealing
> Like the way I do my instagram posts but

- If you would've changed something about my aesthetic to fit perfectly what would it be?

> Great colours, nice energy and visuals

> Practical application of it, how connects to audience, can't see the date clearly or location without looking carefully, can add these tastefully and beautifully

- If ours is about colour and boldness, and is similar to your aesthetic, how is yours playful and ours is not? What difference is there that is distinctive to you?

> Good point to make, as the previous brief on Transcendence did have similar aesthetic in the Design Specifications, but there was no immediate reference to the theme of transcending

> Client will always critique work, why is it like this? Acting as someone who does not necessarily have a creative background and needs more of a story board to make them convinced around the aesthetic and direction

- If you could change one thing to make it a fully successful response to the brief what would it be?

> Your project uses the RGB colours that are typically used in lots of designs and campaigns, but you have shifted them to be a bit more interesting

> Learning how to make good design in uni is the most important step for now, but it is the presentation and communication of this idea that is most important for next year in the industry, especially if you are looking to join an agency

> Designs will fail or succeed based on contextualisation of event, eg. how the design works on all platforms and outputs for the event as seen in Evie's project

> Treat the speakers, time, location etc. with love and it will do the project well

> It is a skill to be able to put these elements in an interesting way on designs that is also clear and easy to find and doesn't feel boring

Example he suggested as one that met the brief really well in terms of presentation:

1. Provides overall design decisions, the 'spark' for where it comes from and how it works now

2. Goes through the rationale for each deliverable, posters, flyer, social media, additional merch etc. This helps the client visualise how the aesthetic works on an all round basis and makes it more successful to them

3. Thought about additional ways to present the branding eg. event wristbands
