Development of Spreads 3

 > Want to do a spread with textile backgrounds from early shoot of Rhianna's and focus crops on the textiles

> But what is placed above this? Want the viewer to see the background and its beauty but feels underdeveloped if there is a lack of focus on another layer above

> Pink and gold toned photo works well with the colours and warm tones

> Want greater experimentation and playing around with more typefaces to create diversity and range within the publication
> This is slightly different to other typefaces used as it is more rounded rather than sharp, but is still bold and futuristic in a different way
> Having different typefaces that reflect the future aesthetic in different ways is consistent with creating designs of spreads which are also different aesthetics in presenting the future, between simple spreads with wireframe detail and more graphic spreads with full bleed colour and 3D graphics
> Addition of another image right page to fill the space which feels empty but these don't work and feel too contrasting in colours

> Change of photo to more fashion shot, which has textiles textures and gold tones, much more cohesive with background, lower opacity allows interaction between background and foreground image and allows the viewer to see both

> Rhianna Feedback: Change the image on the left to different shots, want the left image to be less tampered with and more prominent
> What about more textile/fashion shots?

> Change in response to Rhianna actually is much more successful
> Colours between all visuals is consistent and all elements work together to create a vivid, golden spread which strongly directs to the subject of futurism and something alien and new
> Additional text for detail keeps with this theme of presenting images as purchasable items, almost like a catalogue for the future

> Quick spread creation with the use of rounded square windows for an image and full bleed for another
> Images from background and foreground carry the same colour tones and feel consistent
> Simple surrounding type which in its typeface allure to a sense of bars. Also almost feels like a futuristic alien language, type acts as much as visual forms as text

> Production into 3D with choice of glass texture to allow the colours to reflect from the imagery, which is cohesive in colour with right image with silver and white tones

> Rhianna Feedback: Can we move the background image so that the mirrored visuals are centred at the spine

> Disagree with this change, as the mirroring of the image is not noticeable when the image is centred anyway, and as a result there is no reason for it to be moved

> Another process in the direction of achieving futuristic type visuals, rather than creating 3D metallic words a metallic texture/imagery is placed within the text
> Keeps its 2D quality but feels cohesive with other 3D text

> White tones within photo means a white background works better as it creates ambiguity between the foreground and background and makes them feel more united
> Typical layout direction of having one image full bleed and the other with more details and type graphics
> Circular windows to focus on interesting textures and visuals
> Spread successful with gold and white tones between both pages
> Crop of the image in this way makes it a very interesting photo, peer feedback liked this crop of the image a lot

> Found this photo of Rhianna's interesting and wanted to experiment with it, but is it too different to the rest of the images and therefore will it feel inconsistent and random within the publication?
> Use of type for visual element rather than text works well, like an alien coding language
> Layering of additional blue image on top feels overcomplicated but both images are consistent with colours so could be placed somewhere else

> More successful layout with the use of the text balanced with the image
> Letter 'a' from one of the more rounded typeface is an easy and interesting way of producing additional details, which here creates connection between the left page, which is more predominantly visual and colourful, and the right page, which has the use of monochrome type

> Still not sure about this spread in general being added in, will include it for Rhianna to look at and for her to decide whether it works

> With the content spreads beginning to come to an end, need to start thinking about the first and last pages
> Should this be dedicated to our names as the creatives, or something else more relevant to the theme?
> These need to have developed design time dedicated to them, recognise that for a fully formed outcome detail is important and to leave these last minute would be to waste all the hard work on the other pages

PEER FEEDBACK

> Peer Feedback: This spread feels under developed and has less detail and texture than other spreads, why not add a grid in the background?
> Added a wireframe orb close crop, which has movement within the lines to reflect the movement within the images of the person
> Rhianna Feedback: Make the lines less opaque

> Peer Feedback: Type in this spread feels boring compared to the rest of the publication so far
> Added in 3D element here which makes the publication feel more in the same style, as there are distinctive two styles going on from the start to more recent designs
> This also successfully fulfils the change the peer feedback suggested
> Using the digit 0 in this 3D graphic as detail top left does not work well here, overcomplicated
