Fashion Photography Publication Brief

I love the colours you use, looking for a magazine cover and then I’ve got about 20/30 photos to go inside. My concept is exploring how man and machine might collide in the future

Design a fashion photography publication on transhumanism. |
|
Background/Considerations |
|
Content Considerations We are creating another dimension, another human nature
before our eyes. Transhumanism is the concept that the
human condition could be developed and enhanced using technologies, to modify
our intellect and physiology. The reality of such
philosophy has been picking up speed in the last few decades, and bodes the
question, how far will we go and how far is too far? Rhianna’s fashion photography
explores a future of greater transhumanism and presents what this world may
look like. You must design the publication to showcase this photography series,
approaching the aesthetic using experimentation, colour, and futuristic and
technological motifs and detail. Research should be done into the topic of transhumanism
and how this has been explored in art and design. You should look at existing
fashion photography publications and both experimental and minimalist futuristic
graphic design. This brief is directed as a collaboration, but the outcome must fulfil the directions of the fashion photographer, as a publication to showcase their work. Essential deliverables include the front and back cover
of this publication and the layout of the photographs inside. If there is free time upon completion of these essential deliverables, there should be additional design and concepts around the production of the publication, including paper stocks and production processes. The production costs for this can be high. There should also be manipulations and adaptations of the photographs, such as face mapping, to enhance the transhumanism aesthetic. Background Considerations The target audience is young adults, ranging from 20 to 30 years old,
who are interested in notions of transhumanism, the future and the role of
technology, and fashion. They are creative individuals and engage with fashion,
photography, design and print. They are from a wide range of ethnicities,
classes and backgrounds. |
