Presentation of Publication Development

Presentation Outcomes:

1 Gif of spread to showcase overall publication quickly to viewers, entice them into looking at post of publication [INSTA]

2 Continuous post of pages [INSTA]

3 Landscape presentations [DESIGN BOARDS]

> Close ups of detail on pages!

GIF

> Name aligned left vertically to mirror cover design

> Lots of badges for decoration?

> Should they be neatly aligned in a formation layout alike to the cover, or more as background visuals?

> Feels messy with the badges, lots going on already with the publication design
> Keep things simple!
> Vertical name also won't work when presenting spreads, as there will be more negative space at the top and bottom

> Texture in background to create similar feel to the cover and to reflect content designs with textiles in background
> Fill black background won't work for all the spreads to stand out, will leave darker and black spreads indistinguishable from background

> Detail in background instead of textured background to make the spreads stand out?
> Feels more clean cut and refined than the textured background
> But need to use wireframe shape that would be seen when there is both portrait cover layout and landscape spread layout

> Low opacity of details matches with content design but is counterintuitive with the black background and need for darker/black spreads to be distinctive in foreground

> Frustrating process with photoshop in trying to get all the spreads in the same exact place so that the GIF works successfully when moving between pages
> Found that there were fractional differences between each spread, despite sizing and moving them to be consistent with each other
> Found you can lock layers: Yellow rectangle locked into place, then proceeded to size and move each spread to specifically match this one shape, rather than to different spreads during each stage
> Line at centre also locked
> Gradient at centre of rectangle shape on multiply layer style also created to make the book feel more printed than digital

> Peer Feedback: Why not involve some of the NASA annotations in the background rather than silver badges or prominent type/details? Prefer the texture background to the plain black one

> Slow down on cover pictures will allow some focus to allow the viewer to recognise what it is they are looking at
> Slowing down of frames so each spread can be seen properly

> Continuous post to present inside spreads for viewers to look at properly additional to fast capture of all spreads in GIF
> Different aesthetics in this direction, doesn't feel cohesive
> Different colours and tones in spreads generally but with difference in mock up used, this heightens it and makes it worse, especially as the left mock up feels more matte while the right mock up feels more glossy
> Should make two different posts, adopting the annotation and publication design aesthetic in one, and the other a simple showcase of lots of spreads

> Think the two styles shown to viewer emphasises the different styles of project aesthetic overall
> Showcases the publication to the viewer in different interesting ways

> Could have taken away the shadow from the mock ups as didn't notice they were quite prominent on the spreads layered below
> Overall posts feel developed and interesting, definitely best posts so far on design account
> Will work well in adapting these for design boards to showcase project to another level
