Crit Feedback
Lockdown Magazine
- love the newspaper aesthetic
- can it be reimagined for a digital platform?
- cheap, accessible but digital
- imagine if dating apps didn't exist but the internet did, how would this look? publication would become somewhere lonely people post stories and look for dates (much like original planned content)
- 90s internet aesthetic, crazy type and visuals
- corona posters could be even more like the original ones, as using stylised type makes them lose their official gov quality and makes it feel less realistic and subverted
- viewer shouldn't realise it's subverted until they look closer and read the info
IDENTITY - RESEARCH PROJECT
- Like bread idea, really daft and silly
- abstract and social concept there is no tangible definition for what it is
- this could very easily be transferred to a publication
- what if you made the viewer question their identity by using such questions but in a more abstract way: do you identify with yellow? do you feel more like an 'and' or 'it'?
- words that have little illustrative connotations, forces them to think about what the word may mean and how it may relate to them
Research Reading Points
> Anthony Giddens (easy reading bad opinions)
> Move onto Beverly Sheggs (opposing opinion to Giddens)
- Giddens writes very convincingly, makes you believe you can change and choose things for yourself and who you are
- Could I convince people they are something they are not? Or that they are a bread roll?
