- online website outcome, makes more sense on the subject of digital love and relationships during lockdown  

- collage aesthetic overall on more detailed article stuff

- experimental etc.

- website itself laid out with articles and pictures you can shift through to look at in more detailed 

- using website means the collage aesthetic can be elevated by having the articles and images layered above each other 

- could the website gradually become more digital, starts with real life selfies and text, scroll down, and the type becomes digital aesthetic and the images become eg. pixelated or there are characters instead for people and their stories, scroll down more and everything becomes fully digital with pixel art

- could we make the nudes from people into pixel art (make them more comfortable with sending pictures) and would reflect the digitalisation of their nudes online when they sent them to people 

- write out my story and have Daniel face all page or take over specific words in story 'the'

COLLAGE EXPERIMENTS








> Super visual pieces that allow the reader to take in images in a non-linear way 

> Feels free rather than a newspaper or book it is a space of visuals and type that allows you to feel the frustration and humour from lockdown stories 

> Now decided to go for a website and online outcome, the layout will be much more free to play around with and we can move from the print restrictions 


DIRECTION

- pink and reds (sex), green and blues (digital)

- pixelating images and pixel art

- collage aesthetic, website will reflect this with layered images the user can move through

- detailed subverted sections of newspapers or porn sites included but with collaging effect will be consistent with the general style 

- content will be collected over the next week and played with, end of week discuss website format and ideas 

> Play on Aria's cats and messages we've had over time about how she is doing in lockdown in Milan away from uni and her student house 

> Her main entertainment and comfort = her cats

> Funny to play on this and the images she's sent me to reflect this other narrative of lockdown = not just about relationships with people but also about people and their animals or things that give them comfort and entertainment 

> 90's internet aesthetic which would go really well with website idea and was previously looked into when suggested in the crit

> When creating an element from a photo online I liked the way it showed the background with the rubber tool

> Interaction and motion could be created this way in the website 

> Images appear over the artwork and the user rubs out the image themselves to reveal the layers beneath, creating their own art piece 

> Each site development would be individual to each user and how they interacted with it

> Can't see that the central image is a cat, should move to the left and crop off the edge to have it in the same layout and balance of space
> More humorous text that plays on the idea of the cat being a replacement for dick in lockdown 




> All close up texts using different interesting effects, more effects the more depth and digital aesthetic as all of these effects create depth and shadowing rather than giving a print 2D appearance

Identity EVALUATION

Alike to GAIA EXRTH, it was disappointing not being able to complete the brief within the timescale set out. I recognise that I like working a lot on passion projects and pushing them further and further, to the point that perhaps the goals I set are unrealistic or I spend too long on one level/area of the project. In this case this was a research brief and I set out to spend a lot of time doing research and testing ideas. I found this a more difficult brief to do within the covid landscape and felt less inspired, as I wanted to go out into the world and look at things, ask people, visit places and so on. This meant this project took a back seat and by the end of the year revisiting it so late on meant there was no time to fulfil the visions I had for the project. It's exciting however to have so many projects I'm interested in to be continuing after uni as it means I can keep the momentum up of designing and producing more ideas and more work. PPP Task 1 Research

  LAYOUTS and UX I've noticed design studios use for their sites: 1. Simple white layout or black and white layout, sans-serif bold text, no specific logo or style present, scroll down box images of each project 2. Introductory logo used as image window or general logo, interaction leads into actual site  3. More interesting layout utilises UX more and guides the user through the different areas with seamless arrows  4.
