ORIGINAL SELF BRANDING > FORBIDDEN FRUIT STUDIO
> CLEAN CUT MONOCHROME BOOB LOGO TO REFLECT TABOO TOPICS AND FEMINISM AND WOMEN'S ISSUES FOCUS
> EMAIL CREATED USING THIS NAME, LOGO AND ADDITIONAL ILLUSTRATION TO GRAB RECIPIENTS ATTENTION
> As my practice have developed passed the focus on women's issues, taboo subjects etc. a new image is needed
> New logo, visual??
> Illustration on email also was a quick one so a new
- who am i?
- who am i as a creative?
- all good designers show this through their identity
- need to look at designers not studios

ANALYSIS
> Designers visual identities comes through their work
> There is not necessarily a ridiculous amount of branding done for themselves, rather the work speaks for itself
> David Benski obviously has an interesting website and a logo designed for his instagram which helps bring it all together to a professional standard
> For my own practice I don't need to put too much pressure on creating an aesthetic now, more rather that I recognise what direction I want to go in with my work and its presentation for future outcomes to begin to reflect this identity
> For now a new logo idea perhaps and step by step plan of where my identity should be going
INSTA PIC/ LOGO IDEAS
> Does this reflect me as a designer?
> At the moment it does present my aesthetic and my direction
> Don't want to be cornered into a box of aesthetic and at the moment this black backgrounds, digital sleek modern type direction does this
> Also don't want to feel too boring and simple?
PRESENTATION AND VISUAL IDENTITY FEEDBACK
> I have an eclectic mix and collagy aesthetic
> You see evidence of my hand rendering and fine art background within my work
> Having this fine art background gives you an edge over other designers, something different
> The logo made looks like something that could be floating around on the page, above my work
> Work could be presented on website in such a collage way, something that feels experimental
> I don't like the idea of cornering myself into a box with a logo aesthetic or being boring with a simple, plain, conventional logo as I am constantly changing
> Why not place this 'change' at the centre of my aesthetic?
> 10 different logos, or a new logo every day based on my MH
> Curate sense of mystery with work isn't bad thing
DR ME
> You can feel the hands in the outcomes
> Sense of fine art within the design much like me
> Nick suggests something similar within their work to mine, their book 10 shows how their fine art art style and digital graphics meet in the middle
> Craig Oldham website on sound buttons
> Websites don't have to present the visual identity of your work, they can be anything you want, there are no rules to follow, no things to tick off (contact deets/insta?)
BARBICAN WEBSITES
> Ways to present the eclectic nature of my work in an interesting every changing way on a website
> Question is how will this be done in a static way on a portfolio?
BOI WEBSITE
> Created their own currency of BOI = 1 hour of work
> Really interesting concept
> Strong aesthetic reflecting their digital design profession and practice (digital type, clean cut shapes and so on)
> Like the layering of text and imagery
GERRIT RIETVELD
> Literal collage aesthetic: chopped up images put together that move subtly as you move your mouse and fully shifts when you click briefs
> Like the sense of movement within the different visuals shifting together
EFFECAVA
> More simple, stripped back website design that looks to removal of text when your mouse moves over the words
> Funny sudden change as the user interrogates this very simple site with their mouse
> Creates intrigue in the artist
YVES TUMOR
> Always a favoured style of website when there are hovering images and videos within what feels like a sphere of space rather than a 2D rectangular format
> Music playing creates experience and immerses viewer fully in the artist's work rather than allowing the user to navigate the site and retain a sense of control over their practice
> As the work is photography based it can be abstract and floating around, however more graphic design outputs would need information and perhaps more structure depending on how you wanted to present the work
> Access to site with instant logo above work is the direction I may go in
RAVECON
> Instant illustration flashing on screen creates instant ominous tone and presents a rave aesthetic > click through poster and to RSVP
> Interesting and quick way to get through to an event link and invites
NEXT STEPS
> Think about the website and how it would be laid out
> Create 10 different logos, keep it quick fun and experimental
