Tips
- Position yourself as someone who can do freelance from the start eg. use the words, build that website from the start
- Talk about yourself in future words
- People can sense the lack of experience or confidence if you'd don't place yourself highly
- Be simple, fancy websites/words can become outdated
- Get comfortable with selling yourself to people, LinkedIn message or email
- Clients aren't looking at creative review they're looking at places where audiences are, eg. if topic is on pets they'd look at petweekly mag
- In-house work helps you understand what's important to clients in appealing to them
- Internships = looked to LinkedIn, smaller agencies more hands on with you and more likely to give you full time employment
- Graduate Shows, talking to people personally to get noticed, get to know them properly not just general message. Reach the right person, changes within each studio, HR, creative director etc.
- Look through peoples' work you like online and contact them about opportunities
