WEBSITE ABOUT

This is a movement made to educate and empower. An estimated 1.3 million cis-women enter menopause every year in the U.S alone, which includes trans folk. Society does not present us with enough great aspirational menopausal individuals, and too many groups of people are unaware of the impact menopause can have on individual's lives.

As a result this creates an uncomfortable environment for those experiencing symptoms, especially in the work place and in public. Stereotypes of the grumpy older women next door or the irritable mother permeate and categorise menopause into a societal taboo, one which can impact an individual's ability to deal with menopause.

Conversations around menopause and its symptoms should be made freely by all individuals, which includes cis-women, trans folk and non-binary people. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in this conversation to create a more positive, educated and supportive society.

The power of our bodies and what comes with this experience should also be celebrated; there are many ways in which this period of life can empower and bring great change.

This isn't a pause, its a kickstart to a new chapter.

WEBSITE

> Women Empowerment Website Example of me too presents different tone in that it wants to show it provides support and empathises with the user

> Immediate photograph to create connection with viewer and safety exit button crucial within interface

> General sections include instagram posts section and links to other places elsewhere

> Mock-up of website means not necessarily fulfilling all of the content and links and buttons, but general direction
> Should include general menopause info, inspirational quotes, inspirational people pictures and about campaign

> Text into columns to help readability but user needs to scroll to see each end of column which makes for clunky navigation, columns need to be wider
> Large title to create instant impact on viewer on the campaign
> Gallery of individuals joining in with the movement on social media presents the community within the campaign and encourages the viewer to want to engage

> What is menopause should be in its own section with info, mock ups can be placed at the start of website to show the presence of the campaign and how it is out in the real world

REFLECTION + PEER FEEDBACK

- type at start is different sizes
- fact at beginning remove cis-women to women and add non-binary

> Would the viewer want to see billboards and posters at the start? They need more inspiring images
- Move the positive facts to top at start of website and make into gallery that moves between them all

- text can be confused in menopause what is section so breaks are needed, question mark line can be used
- selfies section has no context, text encouraging viewers to get involved and feel inspired needed
- Symptoms links inconsistent body type used, needs changing

IMPROVED WEBSITE

> Entrance into website more impactful and visually engaging for viewer than the campaign contextualised with about text
> Inconsistency in the social media links being black rather than white, but as wix provides these social links this is the faster and easier way to create it rather than make my own and with time frame wix option was used
> Positive Facts can be clicked and sends you to blogs, websites, news, podcasts etc. about menopause
> This means straight away the user is introduced to more information, more sources, more perspectives

> More context for the sliding gallery of women engaging with the movement on social media
> Encouragement for user to get involved with interactive instagram link to me no pause insta page
> Speak Out phrase designed to create more cohesion between website and overall identity of movement as seen on positive facts with circular forms

> Dividers to ensure readability for the user on each menopause fact section

> Use of low opacity strip creates sense of depth and sections for easy navigation between different sections and a sense of depth and layering for a more interesting aesthetic
> Body text changed for consistency with rest of type
> Additional buttons adde3d below each quote to enable viewer to delve into where the quote is from and read into further perspectives and ideas on menopause for positive reinforcement

> Bottom bar additional social media links to ensure they explore these and see them at least once available
> Powerful slogan to reinforce the tone and message of the movement

> Additional animations of new elements to create an immersive, interactive and engaging experience for the viewer
> 'New chapter' line made to swing out like a page of a book
> 'Speak Out' circle made to powerfully slam in from full screen
