Preternatural Printing + Binding
> Two copies printed
> Most of one copy ruined due to an accident in the road and dropping the pages in the muddy wet road (frustrating!)
> But treated both copies as test runs for binding and whether to change things in printing next version
> Quality of prints overall were very successful
> Cover looks great on gloss paper, all the colours and highlights very prominent
> Photographer feels some pages are too dark but I disagree, the matte quality of the paper is what captures the depth of black colours and enriches it
> Some images of peoples' skin though however is too pinky, which Rhianna will change
> Binding is difficult to do with the edge of the front cover bar on the spine edge, this will need to be done better
> Cover initially thought to need more width, but test 2 on additional pages found that following the front cover bar as spine works well and crop marks just need to be removed
Changes for final version
- take crop marks off cover as it is an unnecessary visible mark when adjusting cover on pages in perfect binding
- replace images Rhianna alters on indesign document
- extend the bleed of all pages with backgrounds of spreads (more than 5mm)
- lower opacity of wireframe on background of black spread
