Rhianna Book 2

> wants two publications for two different designers

> different designer photographs have similar styling and tone, you can feel it's done by same photographer

> But slight differences that could be translated into two books, which could be bound together into a package

> Marius Malon: brighter, more colourful, lighter tone, romantic

> Aurelie Fontan: earthy, futuristic, red + purple tones

> Few darker tone images in Malon series however which creates inconsistency in tone if keeping designers' photos separate

RESEARCH

> How should the aesthetic respond to these themes I see in the photography?

Two sides of a future distant mother earth? Alien mother earth? What happens when mother earth takes back control?

This whole project is directed and made by women, from the fashion designers to the models, photographer and graphic designer. This female power radiates from the images and could be reflected in the tone and graphic direction of the publications.

Overall themes: women (ask photographer for basis behind images and her research)

Book 1: Romanticism, love, paradise, life, passion

Book 2: Powerful force, dark, futurism, sci-fi, mother earth, tribal, spiritual

  1. Mother Earth(Noun)

The personification of Earth and its biosphere; Mother Nature. Based upon either goddesses of the earth and nature, Gaia, Rhea &/or Demeter.

  2. Mother Earth(Noun)

The goddess of earth in various cultures.

A portal into fun, silliness and childlike imagination: Sofa magazine

“We knew we wanted to do something illustrative or collage-based and also very dreamy,” Michelle tells It’s Nice That on the segment which, in one word, can only be described as playful. “Illustration has the potential to bring its own strong sense of storytelling to any brief,” continues Johannes, “and as ubiquitous as it is in editorial formats, we felt it was rarely used to its full potential within fashion editorials.”

> In elevating the bright swipes of colour in the Malon photos this experimental illustration style could be really interesting
> Feels futuristic but almost retro as well
