OUGD603 EVALUATION
I have learnt a monumental amount within this module. I have developed my skills within many areas, including collaborating, producing work for creatives, how to communicate within this process to those outside of design, the importance of presentation and applying visual identities to a range of outputs, how to research quickly and thoroughly (and the importance of this in every brief), my abilities in adobe software and so on. There have been many exciting parts, including learning to love branding and seeing it as an area which can be experimental and creative. Alongside this my love for editorial has had amazing chances to grow and expand, and the opportunities I've had to be experimental and have fun with design have been amazing. While my organisation and work ethic continues to be strong skills, I've recognised that there are smarter ways to work within specific briefs. For example, the me no pause movement did not need as much work done on the Instagram visuals, and this time could have been used on presenting the main deliverable and creating additional collaterals. Working through a range of briefs within branding, editorial and digital has expanded my passion in different areas of graphic design. It's been frustrating that I haven't been able to finish various ongoing projects for the deadline, including the Y2K Fashion Posters, Hyper Capitalism, Religion Research Project, Identity, Lofty's Rebrand and GAIA EXRTH. However being overly ambitious I think these projects create great work to do post-degree to keep the momentum going. The tenuity of collaboration projects is also something which slows the pace down of projects, and I've found it's only natural for some ideas and briefs to be left behind for more impending, more exciting ones.
