FAKE NEWS RESEARCH This creative research project by 5 students in the US uses AR to change the writing on any trump sign you see to reveal a hidden message about his morals and values e.g. praised low black voter turnout, thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax - Coined the term ‘fake news’ . He used this term when referring to news he didn’t like or agree with, rather than it having anything to do with the actual facts of the news. This can be seen as an act of propaganda - This has led to a serious distrust in the mainstream media, particularly among the right wing. Interview Questions Planning + Contacting for Primary Research

WHO TO CONTACT? 1. COMPANIES/BRANDS WITH INCLUSIVITY DIRECTION  - Aesop (branding) - Basik  (branding) - Ordinary  (branding) => May help not to go for big brands as responses will be limited => Search for individuals with smaller companies on instagram that I can contact and ask  => get advice on the physical side of the project from people who have been involved in gender neutral branding, UX (maybe) and fashion  2. INDIVIDUALS ON THE GENDER SPECTRUM  (Small selection of various genders that could give different views on the subject. Getting interviews and answers from those of different class, race and ethnicity is also important but makes it more difficult.)  - Cis-gender (same gender assigned at birth) - Non-binary (not exclusively masculine or feminine)  - Androgynous  - Transgender  - Gender Fluid  Questionnaires     = Identification  = Thoughts and feelings on current climate in relation to them...

Doomsday clock  = created for a newsletter = simple logo design that is changeable in accordance to the level at which the world is near doomsday = not necessarily recognisable to everyone, does need slight context = but as a general logo it is simple and effective  =how can our logo be translated in the same way?   BRIEF AIMS - Raise awareness of issue  - Logo must change with the urgency of the issue it highlights  INITIAL BRAINSTORM  Climate change? Extinction of specific animal? Forest fires? What specifics of this area can we focus on?  RESEARCH  CLIMATE CHANGE RESEARCH = various ideas didn't make sense eg. idea of having an installation that uses interaction or weather   How would using the rain in Leeds to fill up an iceberg shape communicate the issue to the passing public? How would encouraging the public to dispose of their litter in a similar iceberg form also communicate the issue? This feels more counterintuitive...

Where the latter aims to disrupt established norms through dull, often billowing garments meant to transcend suits and skirts, the former strives toward the same goal by disentangling the normative association between skirts and women, suits and men. Textiles vs Materials https://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/seetal-solanki-ma-tt-er-crossing-the-gender-divide-international-womens-day-080317 “Materials” and “textiles” are two words that are loaded with questions, gender biases. They play a defining role in shaping someone’s identity and their role in the world. “Textiles” brings up so many images; many of us instantly think of a woman...
