- like idea of two books presenting different sides of new, alien mother earth  - one designer is a man but feminine touch is still present in direction - Aurelie designer made clothes based on idea of women exploring new planet, so interpretation of this was correct but not shared with Malon's shoot, which is more generally his designs  - Can still produce this idea of a new alien female world with two sides

This brief was another really fun project to work on with a creative who has interesting ideas and a series of photographs which I have always wanted to design around (eg. Swallow from first year was similar). This was less a collaboration and more of a client scenario in that I gave her a moodboard of existing publications, asked if she had any examples she liked, produced designs and kept her up to date with my ideas and developments. She had a clear aesthetic she liked from the start which I am also a fan of and so producing this was a fun, easy straightforward experience. Coming up with additional outputs to go with the publication was a fun collaborative call, and having her there to see the production process was something I have learnt photographers like to do.   > Pictures are better than first series but as involving both Ell and James to take these pictures still do not follow within what would be an elevating presentation, I need to be involved in the process and direct the photographers on how I want them done > I assume they know how to do it but this is presumptuous > Having book on stand does present the book more as an art artefact which is appropriate for the brief, but without a birds eye view and being so far away the actual publication cannot be read  > The stand could have been covered in velvet itself, as it is a central part of the image more thought could have been put into this as it takes a lot of the focus away from the pages.  > Additional pictures of condom box I also asked for are good and present this more individually as an additional output, but having it be opened and showing someone interacting with this would be a better presentation 

> wants two publications for two different designers > different designer photographs have similar styling and tone, you can feel it's done by same photographer > But slight differences that could be translated into two books, which could be bound together into a package  > Marius Malon: brighter, more colourful, lighter tone, romantic  > Aurelie Fontan: earthy, futuristic, red + purple tones > Few darker tone images in Malon series however which creates inconsistency in tone if keeping designers' photos separate RESEARCH  > How should the aesthetic respond to these themes I see in the photography?
